Monday
Worked at the office all day as usual. Had the night off, and a neighbor very kindly offered to let me borrow the Rug Doctor he had rented and still had several hours use of. Most of the apartment is beautiful, dark hardwood, but the bedrooms are carpeted. With the door to the frequently used back porch leading into my room, our dirty bare feet have left a black path through my room (not to mention that my dog and his bladder had some 'adjustment anxiety' issues when we first moved in.) So, with roomiekins out with the boyfriend, I set about piling all my belongings on top of my bed to shampoo my carpet. I worked on that for about an hour and a half, but I couldn't get the shampoo to come out, so I gave up. I didn't tell the neighbor that I couldn't get it to work- I felt bad because he was so nice to let me use it, and I knew he would want to come help me get it to work (he's s super nice guy) but as much as I trust him, I didn't like the idea of having a married man alone in my bedroom... so I just thanked him and gave it back. :) By this time I was tired and decided to crash on the couch rather than clean all the stuff off my bed. But a few hours later, Roomiekins and boyfriend showed up (loudly) and I had to retreat back to my bedroom (ANGRY!) I shoved everything off my bed, went to sleep, and re-piled it the next morning.
Tuesday
Had to work both jobs. I'm not used to doing this during the week anymore; hours have been cut so much in recent months that I've only been working weekends at Borders, but we're finally getting some of those hours back. So, being out of practice, that was exhausting, not to mention the terrible music they're forcing us to listen to, as mentioned in an earlier post, and Steve's surly PMS-y attitude. I was cranky by the end of the night.
Wednesday
Both jobs again. Stevie-poo was in better spirits; thank goodness, because I worked with him in the music department for two hours. :) That was fun. Another manager was kind of on my butt all night, though. I was looking forward to having the next night off, but when I checked my phone after work, I had a message from my friend asking me to watch his kids for a few hours Thursday night. He's going through a pretty hard time right now, and I want to do anything I can to help (plus, I absolutely ADORE his kids!), so I kissed my dreams of a night off goodbye and said that of course I would babysit! Went home and had to sleep on the couch for the second night in a row, because I STILL had not had time to clear the stuff off my bed...
Thursday
Left early from Job #1 to go babysit. The kids were great, and we had tons of fun. (I just wish the twins would hurry up and start using the potty!) I was in high spirits when I was there, but by the time I got home, I was crankified from the combination of exhaustion and SO much to do! I got my stuff ready for the "Breaking Dawn" realease party, and FINALLY finished cleaning my room, because I thought Roomiekins would certainly be bringing the boyfriend over again, and besides, I was ready to sleep in my own bed! It was about midnight when I got to sleep, right after Roomie arrived home [thankfully alone.]
Today/Tonight
The bossman at Job #1 had a lunchtime cookout at his house (or should I say MANSION!) That was nice. I had to sneak out early, because I needed to stop by Walgreens on my way back to the office to pick up some makeup to make me look vampire-ish tonight for the midnight release of the new Stephanie Meyers book. I guess I will do my somewhat gothy makeup here before I leave, and put on my cape when I get to the store, where it'll be cooler. I figure the dark circles under my eyes will perpetuate the undead look I'm going for! I am exhausted, but so looking forward to this; it'll be great fun! A seven hour shift, though, will make this a FIFTEEN-HOUR work day! Yikes!
Tomorrow (Saturday)
SLEEPING UNTIL NOON! But then I have to get up and at 'em. I have mountains of laundry piled up after cleaning out my closet, and I have to go to Mom's and do it, since I don't trust my fellow apartment dwellers after my sheets were stolen out of our laundry room. So I have to go to the bank, because I still haven't had time to get the Xanadu screw-up resolved, then go start on my laundry before going back to the bookstore at 6:00. Then I'll go back to Mom's to spend the night, and get some more laundry done.
Sunday
Teach my class as usual, then I have nursery during the service. Run back to Mom's, work on laundry some more for a bit, then it's back to the bookstore until 9:30 PM.
WHEW! When will I ever rest?!?!
EVER HAVE ONE OF THOSE DAYS/WEEKS/YEARS?
