Oh. Bloody. Hell.
So last night, ever the multitasker, I was playing around on MySpace while I synced my iPod and waited for my Garnier Nutrisse hair color to set. I decided to go to my high school's message board and see how plans for the reunion are going.
Rewind to 10 years ago. High school was easily the most miserable form of torture that could possibly have been inflicted on me. It was the most horrific experience of my life- well, one of them, anyway. I hated every single second I was there.
Fast forward back to the present. So why would I care anything about the reunion, you ask? Well, for one thing, I'm WAY cooler now than I was in high school, and at the risk of sounding as if I'm tooting my own horn, I'm finally going places. I guess I have a somewhat egotistical desire to show everyone that I'm not such a loser after all. (Although being the only single person in a sea of happy marriages might be a little awkward...) Also, it would just be fun to see everyone and find out what they've been up to for the past ten years. I've really been on the fence about whether or not I wanted to attend, but I was leaning toward yes. Until last night.
After reading the forum on MySpace, I see that although ten years have passed, there is nothing new under the sun- at least not at Millington Central High School. There are two different reunions being planned, and the coordinators of each are in a Hatfield/McCoy dispute. It is so ridiculous, and yet so hilarious.
High school, man. Some people just never get over it.
EVER HAVE ONE OF THOSE DAYS/WEEKS/YEARS?
